Apple iPad Running iOS 5 Against Microsoft Windows 8 Tablet [VIDEO]

Earlier this week, Microsoft released a developer's preview of Windows 8 for both PCs and Tablets. Most analysts believe that the OS has a lot of new features to offer especially the Metro UI, the same tiled interface used in Windows 7 based smartphones. Windows 8 has also been optimized for a better touch experience than its predecessors making it more tablet-friendly. To compare the core software, WinRumors has published a nice videos showing Windows 8 slate's performance side by side with an Apple iPad running iOS 5.

Even though the test hardware running Windows 8 tablet OS is pretty decent sporting a a dual core 1.5Ghz processor, the software performance of Apple's iPad on iOS 5 is considerably better.

In the video we compare several scenarios in Windows 8 to an Apple iPad running the latest iOS 5 beta. We could not extend this to more built in features like Mail, Calendar, App Store etc as a lot of these experiences are not available in the developer preview build of Windows 8.
